London Aquarium - May 2010

We've been so busy these past few months that we go out for the day and take loads of pictures but then I am too tired to put them on the blog!!
We took Thomas to the London Aquarium last month. It was too dark in there for Thomas so he didn't really enjoy it all that much. It was so packed in there that we couldn't just stroll around and look at everything. Thomas didn't want to hold our hand or be carried so we ended up running around after him and not really seeing very much at all.....not the best day out we've had!
Thomas loved looking in the big tanks at the fish and crabs

First day at the beach in 2010

Yesterday we went to the beach with Natalie, Carlton and Cameron and the weather was perfect! It made such a nice change for the sun was shining at the weekend we had to make the most of it and go to the beach! We went to Westbrook beach which is very near to Margate, only not as busy! Our boys are similar in so many ways, height, build, speach, love of digging and throwing stones in the water. It was so sweet to see them playing together so well, especially as they don't see much of each other.

Cammy is doing very well on the potty training and we have been encouraging Thomas to use his more to be a big boy like Cammy...and it's working!
Here are some pictures of a great day out...which we plan to do a lot this summer!

Thomas loved being in the big hole...
especially when Cammy came in too and helped to fill it back in!!
Cammy loves his ice-creams too!

Play dates

Thomas has had a great weekend, which means we've had a great weekend too. Yesterday we went to our friend Chris and Helen house as we've not seen them for quite a while, we took a few of Thomas's old toys that were too small for him and their son Harrison loved them! Thomas loved playing with Harrison, he made sure he was ok and had toys and then gave him lots of cuddles and kisses...very sweet!!

Today we had some of our NCT friends over, Natalie and Carlton with their son Cameron and Maria and Jon with thier son Reuben. Thomas had such a great time playing and was very good sharing all his toys. All the children were so very well behaved, we were super impressed as there wasn't any crying, fighting over toys and the word "mine" wasn't said once!
Here are a few photos of a lovely afternoon, thanks guys and we'll have to do it again soon. It's funny to think that next time I see Maria she'll have had her baby, only 3 weeks to go until we meet him...can't wait!

Here's to a happy and healthy 2010!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We hope that 2010 will be a happy, healthy and prosperous one for all of our dearest family and friends! I didn't actually see in the new year I'm ashamed to say, I only lasted until 10.15pm before I had to retire to bed - how sad is that!! It's not that I had peeked too early with too much booze, I was just so tired that I couldn't keep my eyes open!

What a year 2009 has been for The Poulter family, when we think back it was a very mixed year as we had quite a lot to overcome. The first thing was Simon had the news that he would be made redundant for the company he had worked for 16 years, even though he knew it was coming it was still a bit of a shock to have it confirmed. But with everything Simon does, he took it in his stride and handled it so very well. I knew he's get another job very quickly and he was offered a job before he had even left BSK - What a Star! The company is in Buckinghamshire so he has quite a drive but luckily he can now work from home three or four days a week. He has done brilliantly in his new job and I think he's taken to doing a selling role like a duck to water, his new boss is very pleased with him as he's already achieved his budget for the year!!
Thomas was ill quite a bit in the year but mostly they were bugs he picked up at nursery, he even managed to get chicken pox bless him! He's made a lot of lovely friends at 'Trina's house' (this is what he calls nursery!) and he is so creative in his play and his speech is coming along leaps and bounds. Playing Fireman Thomas is the best game ever and fighting fires can go on for hours....!
I was very lucky to find a new job as well this year, and it's in an industry that I know very well. The company was a competitor when I worked at SCA so I know the customers and products and am in the process of learning their IT systems. I've only been there since the middle of Dec but know I'm going to be very happy....YIPPEEE!!
The weather man is threatening us with more snow today - fingers crossed I'll get home before it arrives!
Take care one and all,
LOL

Merry Christmas!!

What a Christmas it has been so far this year! Thomas has been so excited about it for about a fortnight now that he couldn't believe it when we said to him yesterday morning that he could actually open his presents that were under the tree! There were so many that we kept having to have a break and play with the new toys, he was totally spoilt by us and all his relatives! We know that we're either going to have a major clear out of his existing toys, build an extension or move to a bigger house!!! We've tried to not give him too much of his favourite toy (Fireman Sam) to try and expand his interest and he seems particularly keen on toys with small characters with them so he just loves the pirate ship that came complete with pirates, the hobby horse that makes "clip clip" and "neighing" noises, his doctors kit and outfit, his puzzles and his new and improved fireman helmet is a real big hit so now we're fighting even more fires!!! After our meal we lit a few candles, turned out the lights and sang quite a few Christmas carols and songs that Thomas knew - he loved it! He especially loved the part when he could blow out the candles - we had to relight them a few times...as you can imagine!

Simon's mum, dad and sister came to us at 1pm and we opened even more presents, Thomas got a little over excited and was a little monkey but very cute with it!

My sister and her family and my parents popped over on the Sunday before Christmas to exchange gifts and here we all are!

Not sure what big brother Jacob did to Ellie!!!???
Here are a few pictures of Christmas day at Chez Poulter....

Boxing Day - we had a lazy morning at home doing a few chores and playing with our new things and then it was off to Nana's house for a big dinner. Thomas had a few more presents to open and then we ate...yum yum!

A play date with Santa

Two weekends ago we took Thomas to see Father Christmas at Leeds Castle with our NCT friends and we all had such a lovely afternoon. All the children loved the long walk looking at all the peacocks, ducks and geese and all the parents loved it too as we could all have a catch up too. We decided it would probably be best if we went to see santa all together as the little ones would get support from their little buddies and hopefully not cry too much. Bless their cotton socks as most of them were little angels and weren't frightened at all. Thomas was a good boy too but didn't want to sit next to Santa on the sleigh and was very impressed at all the decorations. He loved his present - a little penguin and carried him all the him all the way back to the car. We all then went to a large pub with restaurant afterwards and 'tried' to have a nice meal together. As always I was very on edge about food for Thomas but needn't have worried as he was having too much fun playing to want to sit down and eat food - he ate loads when we got home so I think all the walking made him very hungry and very tired! A few photos of a thoroughly lovely afternoon.
