Our 10th Wedding Anniversary

It was our 10th Wedding Anniversary yesterday and we celebrated it by going for a lovely meal last night to The Barn restaurant which serves locally produced foods in a spectaular style and it's just up the road from where we live! Simon has booked the table for 8.15pm, so Nana, Grandad and Auntie Debbie came up at 6.30pm to baby sit Thomas. We all had a glass of champagne to celebrate our special day and then it was time to leave.

When we got to the table there was a huge boquet of flowers that Simon had arranged for me., it was full of my favourite sunflowers and it made me feel so happy, so special and so very loved...lucky me!!

Here are photos of us as we're going out the door and of the beautiful flowers!

Visitors from Down Under!

Simon and I have been very busy getting the house ready for our visitors, last weekend we spent a lot of time in the garden putting new plants in pots and then Simon took Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off to paint wall, paint doors and clean up everywhere in general...phew what a busy time! Simon worked his socks off and it wasn't much of a holiday off work bless him but the house was spotless....well until Thomas came home from nursery anyway!!

Here's Thomas enjoying his breakfast before a long day outside in the garden.

Thomas helping us in the garden, he felt the lawn needed to swept!

Bless him..he still loves to sweep!!

We've been so looking forward to seeing the family from Perth Australia and finally we can say "they're here .....they're here!!!" Simon's cousin Nathan, his wife Rebecca and their children Alex and Sarah are in Kent visiting Simon's family for a few days and we met up with them over the weekend and on sunday was the big family bash at our house. Simon's cousin Sue and her two boys Alex and Matt came to stay over, they arrived Saturday lunchtime and after eating lunch outside in the lovely sunshine in the garden the boys went to Upchurch golf club to play on the small 9 hole course. Matt was desperate to try out his new club and he just loved it! Whilst they were gone Sue, Thomas and I were out in the garden, Thomas loves to be outside where he can explore everything and play with the sand & water pit, the watering cans...oh and everything else he can lay his little hands on. sue and I then cooked a chilli con carne for Sunday, it's a dish that is best made the day before you want to eat it so it thickens and gets more flavour....yum yum!
Here's Thomas and Alex on the sofa, Thomas is ready for bed but is so excited to have his cousins over to stay that he doesn't want to go to bed!
Sunday we were all up early so that we could all get showered, have breakfast and start cooking...all before midday when the guests would arrive. Simon, Alex and Thomas went to the shops to get the naan breads, popadoms and tear & share breads.
Whilst they were gone Matt watched the re-run of the Rider Cup (yes this boy is golf mad!) and Sue and started chopping up all the meat and veg for the following dishes: Chicken tikka masala curry, Hawian Chicken, Roast potatoes, Debbie and Joan brought a lasagne and a Tavas....so we didn't starve!
Here we are outside in the garden...

We has a smashing weekend and are very sad that's over already! We wish Nathan and Rebecca a very happy holiday whilst they see the rest of their families in the UK! Missing you guys already and if only we lived nearer to each other so we could see more of you all! We'll keep buying the lotto tickets...someone gotta win it!

What a week!

Well it's been a funny old week as I started work on Tuesday. It's only a 3 month temp to perm job as a depot administrator in Sittingbourne (7 miles away) for a company that hires huge plant equipment. Thomas went into nursery on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and he seems to be getting along very well there. On Wednesday he was looked after by our parents and he had a really smashing day being spoilt rotten and having lots of fun and cuddles!

Today we three were out in the garden as the sun was shining, Thomas wore his new welly boots and played with his bubble blowing machine, his sand pit, his football, his watering cans and the hose! here are some photos of a really lovely day....

Cool Mr T with Daddy's old shades on!
