Update.

Sorry it's been so long since I updated the blog but I've been super busy organising Thomas's christening, cleaning the house and trying to get a job...phew I'm exhausted!

So what have we been up to? Erm...we went to Reuben's 1st birthday party last weekend after we all had our hair cut...even Thomas had a little trim! I had a total style change and see the picture below to see what Thomas thought of it! Luckily he likes it now!!

A very sad little T!!

Having fun at R's birthday party

Thomas giving kisses to the twins...very sweet!

Thomas loves to do colouring in and painting (not with real paint it's the books where you only have water on the brush and the water changes colour on impact with the paper!) Thomas loves to watch birds in the garden so every meal time we put bread out for them and we get around 50 or so birds on the grass just in front of the patio doors. Because of his love of the birdies Mormor and Morfar have given Thomas a lovely bird table as a christening gift and they dropped it off this week. We've put it just outside the patio door but think it's too close to the house and will have to move it further away as they don't like to see T that close up...i.e T with his face right up aginst the glass, shouting "DARH!" and then banging on the glass!!!
Here are a few photos with Mormor and Morfar.

We went to Stevie's birthday BBQ a few weeks ago and Thomas loved playing with the older children. One our friend's little girl to a real fancy to T and kept kissing him and wouldn't leave him alone...very sweet! We had a great time and Thomas was such a good boy we didn't leave there until 9pm so he had a very late night ad even had a bit of a lie in the next morning..YIPPPEEE!!
T is definely sleeping a lot better these days thank goodnes! He tends to go bed between 7pm-7.30pm and then doesnt wake up until around 4.30am. I usually feed him and he'll go back to sleep (usually in our bed though!!) until 6am to 7am. Simon and I know that we should feel so much better for a good night's sleep but we often wake up on our own and then can't get back to sleep as we're so used to being up and awake with him during the night!!!

Thomas and I went out for lunch on Wednesday this week with Mormor, Morfar and their friend Christine to celebrate their wedding anniversary. We had such a lovely time and T was so well behaved and sat in the high chair and ate his lunch like a good boy! Everyone that came past us had to stop and say hello to him and of course he loved the attention and gave them all big grins and lots of waves.

tucking into his lunch

having lots of fun with the slot machines
I'm sure he's thinking "byebye mummy you can leave me here with Mormor and this fantastic machine!!"
The weather has been a lot hotter all week and it's even been too hot to go for our long walks and even to sit out in the garden. So T has been running around inside and creating lots of mess...what a little pickle we have!
This week he has also started to feed himself food on a fork and he loves it as he thinks it's really cool and big boy stuff!
We're now on count down to the christening and are really excited, I just hope my cold/flu thing goes quickly so I can get on with things!

Curry night

We've just got home after having a lovely evening out celebrating Auntie Debbie's birthday. We went to the Bayleaf Indian restaurant in Hempstead and the food was fantastic! Thomas spent a lot of time crushing his popadoms on the table, then eating the crumbs, staring at the waiters, staring at anyone else in the restaurant, dragging Debbie's handbag everywhere, walking around the place and eating various snacks (ie strawberries, blueberries, biscuits, breadsticks oh and popadoms) but he had to leave his mark and made sure a good proportion of what we gave him to eat ended up on the floor! Simon and I wonder if we'll be allowed back there as someone would be spending some time sweepng up all the crumbs....? We do hope so!

Enjoying the warm weather

We've had another lovely week and have really enjoyed the warm weather. On Tuesday when Nana, Grandad and Auntie Debbie came over we all had a BBQ and ate outside. It was just too hot to be out in the garden during the day but come teatime it was cool enough to go outside. Here are a few pictures of him....

trying to get in the cupboards in the kitchen (one of his favourite past-times!)

playing hide and seek

on the swings in the park...still holding onto his wooden spoon!
He had another good morning at nursery so I'm feeling a bit happier about him going all day next Thursday. I'm not sure what I'll do, probably lots of chores and maybe go to sign on at some employment agencies as I need to find a job soon. Just thinking about not being with him all day every weekday makes me feel very sad. I know I'm very lucky to have had 12months off work with him, I was only expecting to take 6 months off but the redundancy money made it possible. I'm just dreading being the new girl somewhere but it's a small price to pay.
On Friday Mormor and Morfar came over for lunch, we tried him with a small prawn but he didn't like it....Mormor's not sure he can be a Viking if he doesn't like prawns!! He's still our little blonde bombshell even if he doesn't like prawns! His hair is getting longer and curlier everyday so it won't long til I snip off a curl and put it in a keep-sake box!
We're going out tonight to the Bay Leaf Indian restaurant to celebrate Auntie Debbie's birthday, Thomas loves eating popadoms so hopefully he'll be a good boy for us!
