Happy Birthday Grandad!

Today is Grandad's birthday and to celebrate it we went out for lunch to Chimi Changas at Dockside. It is such a lovely place and very child friendly, it only opened a little while ago so everything is still lovely and new. The food was fantastic and had a nice kick to it (hope our tummies feel the same in the morning!!). Thomas didn't eat anything other than the food we had bought him as most of the items on thier menu contains cheese.

Here are lots of photos of a lovely lunch and then us walking around Dockside, where Thomas walked everywhere whilst on his reins. He had such a great time walking around and shouting at everything and everyone. He was such a good boy during lunch that we treated him to couple of goes on the kiddies rides, and here are the pictures taken...what a little sweetie!

Thomas feeding himself with a spoon

The video is of Thomas feeding himself spaghetti bolognase with a spoon, he loves to feed himself and refuses to eat more or less anything we try and give him on a spoon. He looks at you as if to say "erm no thanks mummy, I want to do it myself as I'm a big boy now!" (Sorry it's on the slant but i can't turn it around!!) What a clever boy!!

We had a lovely weekend together even though on Sunday I felt like death warmed up as I developed a nasty cold. Simon was wonderful and took Mr T off to his mum's for a couple fo hours so I could have a long soak in a hot bath and then an hours sleep...my savior!!

Saturday night we went for a few drinks with some friends as one of them celebrated his 50th birthday, it was so lovely to go out for a few hours and catch up with our friends (thanks mum and dad for baby sitting!)

Monday we decided to go to the car show where my mum and dad were exhibiting their beautiful Armstrong Siddeley car. They had a bit of an accident on the way down there as they were driving along one of the back wheels fell off!! I can't find a photo of the car on my new laptop so will find one and post it at a later date as it is so beautiful. Thank goodness they were all ok and no-one was hurt. We had a lovely time at the show and had nice lunch sitting outside, a lovely treat indeed!

MMR Vacination

Thomas was a very brave boy yesterday as he had the MMR vacination (I know this isn't a big deal in itself as all children should have them) but as it contains egg and Thomas is allergic to egg he had to have it administered on the childrens ward in Medway hospital. He cried when she put the needle in as he tensed up so she had to pull the needle out a bit and put it back in again, but he stopped crying within 10 seconds or so...very brave boy!
We waited around for around 30 minutes and thank goodnes he had no reaction so we went home. He was so affectionate all afternoon and was a very good boy...even when playing in his sand pit and with his new playing football. It so good to see him playing outside in the fresh air. Seeing the sand everywhere is another matter...but what can you do eh?
He went off to nursery fine and no problems this morning so I'm off to do loads of chores and food shopping..aren't I lucky!

A water and sand pit!

Here is Thomas enjoying playing with his water and sand pit yesterday afternoon. No sand as yet as everywhere seems to have run out of stock...but Thomas just loves the water and getting himself completely soaking wet!! Yes we know it's pink but they didn't have any blue ones left...sorry Mr T!

Here's Thomas enjoying a slice of malt loaf....yummy yummy!!
(Note the moustache of margarine as he loves to lick this off first and then eat the cake!)

BBQ at Chris & Helen's

We went to Bluewater on Saturday morning to buy things for Thomas with the money he got for Christening gifts. We agreed to get him a water and sand activity table as he loves to play with the one at nursery. He was itching to get out of his pushchair so we though it would be a good idea to let him around for while and that time just happened to coinside with us getting into the Early Learning Centre...BIG MISTAKE!! Thomas on the other hand thought is was great and ran from one toy to the next pointing at them and shouting ("I want that one...and that one...and that one!!") We bought his the table and a few other things and thought it best to make a move home and to put him back in his pushchair...Thomas had other ideas and decided to go a stiff as a board and make it impossible for us to get him back in it!! We had to bribe him with grapes and that was after Simon carried him for 15minutes...what a cheeky boy!

Simon assembled to table when we got home but Thomas didn't have to play with it as we had to go out to Chris and Helen's for a BBQ. John, Lorraine and Polly were there and Tony and Debbie too. We had a really lovely time and Thomas loved following Grace around and playing with her new toys, especially playing football...(so that's something else we'll have to buy him!!) going on the swing and going in the wendy house..here are a few photos of him.

A beautiful morning for a long walk!

Friday morning was just so beautiful I thought Thomas and I should go for a walk, at first I thought I'd take him around the village but then thought why not go to the Riverside Country Park with my parents and thier dog Chester. Luckily they thought it was a great idea too and we met them in the car park at 8.45am. As it was so early and a weekday there was hardly anyone there and we vertually had the whole place to ourselves. All in all we walked for nearly 2 hours and all agreed it was the perfect way to start a day!

When Thomas and I got home he was hungry (what a surprise as he's always hungry!) and thought it was great to sit in his chair and eat some dried fruit...what a little sweetie!

Thomas' Christening!

So sorry everyone that has taken me so long to putting this on the blog but better late than never..I hope!

The day was just so lovely and it meant so much to Simon and I to have all of our family and friends there to celebrate it with us (and those that weren't there I know you were thinking of us!). My Mum's sister (Aunt Aase) and her youngest daughter Kirsten came all the way from Norway and was it was so great so see them. My sister's eldest son Jacob wrote and read out a peom he wrote all by himself and it was just so beautiful it made me cry. Simon's sister then read a peom which made me cry even more! I had mascara running down my face but I didn't care ...Kiss eat your heart out!! Thomas was a very good boy during the service and only cried a little when he was actually baptised and put the water on his head. Simon and I were sure he'd be a real cheeky boy and be running around the church all the time, but as he wasn't feeling quite himself he stayed pretty near to us nearly all day.

We need to say a very big thank you to everyone that helped us, especially the grandparents, auntie Debbie, Sue, Matt and Alex....we wouldn't have made it through the day without you!! Sue, Matt and Alex...we loved having you to stay with us! You must promise to come and stay again soon!!?? Love you guys so much and missing you loads too!XX

Here are a few photos of a very special day...

Jacob's peom

Two small arms to hold you tight,
Two small feet to run,
Two small eyes full of love for you
One small son.

Catch the moment, put it in your heart,
The years too soon will fly
These are precious moments,
More than money can buy.

There’s nothing like a baby
To put new joy in life
And give each day new meaning
For a husband and his wife

A baby is sunshine
And moonbeams and more
Brightening your world
As never before.
One thing’s for sure
It’ll never be the same
Enjoy this special day.

Catch the moment, put it in your heart
And never let it go
Save it for the years to come
When he, too, will know.

Your precious little angel
Was sent from Heaven above
As you celebrate his christening
You’re surrounding him with love

God grant your little one
All the blessing of His gentle love.
Thomas was very lucky and received lots of lovey gifts and was thoroughly spoilt, we'll send out thank you cards just as soon as we can.

If anyone has any pictures could you please send them to us as we have lots of photo frames to fill!! Thank you. xxx
