Simon, Thomas and I have finally had a holiday....horray!! We organised it at the last minute and were able to hire a lovely villa in Spain, is had three good sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, a good sized lounge/diner and kitchen. We flew into Alicante and it was about a 40 minute drive to the villa. thomas was very good on the flight out as he slept on me for just over an hour and then was happy to walk to the back of the plane to see the "baby". There were three very large supermarkets near to us (even an Iceland!) so we could get everything we needed - even Thomas's soya milk and dairy free marg! We went to the beach everyday so that Thomas could use his "shovel" and "bucket" and "dig" and then go in the (rather cold) "wataar" - sea. He just loved to dig a big hole in the sand and then we'd fill it up with water and then he'd sit beside it with his feet in! Only trouble was the water kept draining away very quickly so either Simon or I would be making constant trips to the sea to get more water!!! As you can imagine we didn't sit in the sun at all but we didn't mind one bit! We all caught the sun a little bit but we really needed to get away and relax as much as we could before Simon started his new job on the 27th.

A lovely day out
On Easter Saturday we'd arranged to go out for the day with my parents and my Norwegian cousins and that my sister and her three children. We all arrived at my parent's house at around 10am and decided to go to Rochester Castle and the cathedral as it's right next door. the weather wasn't the best but at least it didn't rain until we got back to the cars to go home! Some of the party went around the castle and some of us stayed outside. We walked around the grounds and took some lovely photos...

Norwegian relatives
My norwegian relatives are in the UK visiting thier daughter who is in collecge in Taunton and they came to stay with my parents for a few days. Simon has never met them so it was good that after 10 years of married life he should meet another of my norwegian cousins. On Good Friday they came to our house at around 4pm so a few drinks and a meal. We were going to have fish and chips but as Thomas couldn't have it as the chips would be fried in the smae oil as the battered products (and there's dairy in the batter) we thought it best if we cooked a meal, we had chicken wrapped in bacon, roast potatos and parsnips and carrots and sweetcorn. Thomas was very good and sat at the head of the table and was very happy to sit there in charge and tucked into the food. We had a lovely afternoona dn evening with them and even managed to take some photos...

My birthday
My day started off by opening all my lovely cards and of course Thomas had to help me. We then set off to have lunch at a local Beefeater Restaurant, Thomas was very good but he really didn't like to sit in the baby high chair as he's so used to sitting out our chairs on a booster seat. The waitress was lovely and give Thomas a balloon which he thought was great fun to bash me repeatedly with whilst giggling and chuckling...cheeky boy! One minute it was there the next it was floating up to the ceiling and Thomas's mouth was wide open aghast as it floated away. He kept gesturing and pointing that we should somehow get it back for him but it was a bit too high for us to reach so we ended up getting a new one for him.
We then went to Kent Life Centre which was right next door, we knew there was loads of animal there and thought a certain little gentleman might enjoy it there. We were in the car park and bumped into one of the ladies from his nursery but as this park is about 28acres we didn't see her again! He got very frightened by the noisy geese on the pond and by the noisy sheep in the paddock but he loved looking at the quiet sheep inside, they were all females who'd just given birth to their lambs, one of them was actually in labour when we were there!
We came home mid afternoon and Thomas need a nice long sleep (after all the excitement!) so Simon and I assembled an activity centre for T in the garden. After about 30 minutes of trying it this way and then trying it that way (and a few expletives!) we got there...hooray! When Thomas woke up and we opened his curtains and he saw it...WOW!! We rushed downstairs and went outside straight away so he could go down the slide with a WEEEEEEeeee!!
What a lovely birthday!!
