Working hard for a living

Here is Thomas slaving away cleaning the kitchen floor with his new broom and brush & dustpan. He loves to follow me around whilst I'm sweeping the floor so I thought I'd buy him a set of brushes of his own so that he could use them and help me...bless him he really does try and sweep the floor!!

Meeting up with our NCT buddies

Simon Thomas and I met up with our NCT buddies yesterday at the Baptist church in Rochester, here are a small selection of the photos I took. What a lot of happy babies and mummies!

a walk around Moat Park

Here are Simon and Thomas all wrapped up as we walked around Mote Park in Maidstone. Although the sun was shining the wind was freezing cold so we made it a short walk after feeding the ducks.

We popped into Maidstone and bought Thomas even more clothes and toys...lucky little boy!

Haden's 1st Birthday Party

Thomas went to his first birthday party on Easter Sunday, he had such a lovely time playing with lots of new toys and children...here are a few photos. A very big thank you to Karena, Richard and Haden for inviting us...they were very brave to invite so many children!!!

Simon has the next two days off holiday and we're looking foward to spending some quality family time together. He really needed the break from work and hopefully will feel the benefit of having 6 days off...not that we're having long lie ins or anything but spending so much time our gorgeous little Thomas would make anyone feel great!

"Mama!"

Our gorgeous little boy has said his first word at nine months old and it's "Mama"!! He says it more when he is upset and is the sweetest thing I've ever heard, it melts my heart every time he says it!

We had another first today as Thomas decided it was time to crawl up the stairs...to see what I doing (and it was only boring old hoovering!!) Simon was behind him just in case he slipped but he was very steady and methodical and was at the top in no time at all. So we'll be keeping our lounge door shut all the time from now on as we don't want him going up on his own do we!
Attached are a few pictures taken recently, some at home and some shopping at Bluewater.

Hope and Steve's wedding - 8th March

Our friends Steve and Hope got married yesterday at Eastwell Manor which is near Ashford. The dress code was black tie and evening dress so it was great to go out and buy a posh frock and get dolled up. My mum and dad looked after Thomas for us and he was such a good boy for them, he was in bed at 6pm as he was just exhausted after having such fun! The venue is just stunning and the perfect place to get married. Simon very kindly offered to drive so I could have a few glasses of champagne and let my hair down a bit...very kind of you sweetie!! The disco part of the evening started at 7pm and the music was superb! A great mix of oldies and newies but all great songs to dance to, I for one loved all the songs and boogied as much a my poor achey feet would let me. We had such a fantasic time, it was just so great to be me Stella for a few hours!

Here are a few pictures of us with our friends:

(OOPPS I didn't manage to get a photo of the bride and groom together!)

Allergy test results

Today my mum and I took Thomas to have the skin prick tests done at a clinic in Tonbridge. We told the doctor all about his allergic reactions to the foods and then she decided which items to test for, there were 9 in total. She made 9 small marks on his back with a biro and then beside one marker she put a drop of oil containing egg (for instance) then made a tiny prick on the skin. The ones I can remember are wheat, dairy, egg, nuts, dog fur and he is allergic to dairy products and egg. My mum is so pleased that it's not dog fur so it means we can now go to her house more often....very good news!! The doctor will send my GP a full report on today's findings and ask her to issue me with the Epipens for anaphylaxic shock which we will have to carry everywhere. The company that produces them also supply dummy pens so I can show the family how to use them correctly. So what does this mean for our special little guy? Well we'll have to take him to see someone to get a proper diet sorted out to ensure he's getting all the vitamins and nutrients that a growing lad needs, until then he's sticking to home cooked veg and fruit. The doctor said that as he's not having meat, dairy products and pasta etc that it could be the reason why he still wakes every 3-4 hours at night for milk.
Oh well, at least we know what he is allergic to and what to avoid.

Happy Mothers Day!

Today was very special as it was my first Mothers Day, I never thought I would ever celebrate it as a mum myself...but here I am! Thomas and Simon made it very special for me, the day started with me getting two cards, one from Thomas and one from Simon, both of which made me cry with happiness! Then it was time for a couple of gifts, one was a large box of Malteesers (one of my favourite things!!) and the other was a large bottle of Baileys (the other most favourite thing!!!). I then spent a couple of hours cooking apples, pears and plums for Thomas as this is all he seems to want to eat at the moment.

My mum is still very poorly with the nasty flu virus so it wasn't possible to meet up with her and my dad today, hope to see them tomorrow if she's better. I feel terribley guilty as I asked my mum to come and help me look after T on Monday last week as I felt so terrible with the flu...and now she's got it...am so sorry mum!!!

Simon's mum and dad popped up to see us for an hour and here are a few photos we took when they were with us.
