Poorly Thomas.... and Mummy too!!!

Poor little Thomas has got the flu! Not only that but he's got a nasty cough and very bad conjunctivitus (probably not spelt correctly!) in both eyes. T started out with a cold last Wed and gave it to me on Thursday and over the weekend we've both got a lot worse. Neither of us are eating very much (I didn't eat anything for nearly 2 days), neither of us are sleeping very much either...so all in all not very happy chappies!
Fingers crossed we'll be better very soon!

Auntie Debbie operation

Auntie Debbie has had her final operation, we are so pleased that it went very well and that she is recovering so well. She looks better every time we see her. That might have something to do with Thomas loving his little chats with his lovely Auntie Debbie, he loves it when she talks to him. He listens so intently and always has to converse in his own little way with her...how very sweet!!

Visiting old workfriends and their babies

I was made redundant from SCA at the end of 2007 as I was unable to do the amount of traveling required in my job and it still makes me sad when I think about it. It really was a dream job for me and it leaves me wondering if I'll ever get similar opportunities again at another company. Anyway no job will ever give me 0.1% of the happiness that Thomas has bought me and my family over the past 8 months and that makes me a whole happpier!!

Here is Karena and her lovely little boy Haden (10.5months) and Ty 1(14months) in the background.

Here is Sarah and her lovely little boy Ty enjoying his bottle milk (look Thomas...that's what you're supposed to do!)

We all worked for SCA and have all been made redundant after our office was shut down last year. At least the packages we got meant we all be at home with our little boys!

NCT friends pay us a visit

Thomas looks a bit shocked to see all his NCT buddies playng with his toys, but he's a good boy and doesn't mind sharing them.
We love having them round to our house, it is so lovely to have all the mums and babies here. The support we all get from each other is just so great and makes being a new mum that much easier...thanks girls for being there during our tough times!

Here are Jenny, Joseph and Cameron

Here are Natalie Cameron and Jasmine.

Here are Sian and Jasmine.

Quad biking

Here is the bride to be Hope...all dolled up for an affternoon's fun of Quad Biking.

This is the picture before we went out in the 4 inches of mud!!

Here I am dressed up ready to go!

Here we all are after such a laugh...Hope crashed in two trees and she said all she could hear was me screaming with laughter!!!
What a lovely group of girls who all wanted to make sure Hope has a great hen night. I only went to this part of the weekend but understand the nights were great fun too.
Good luck for March 8th, can't wiat to see you and to be part of your very special day!!

Update...(finally I hear you cry!)

Well what is news with us ? Thomas is now crawling everywhere and absolutely loves it. There is no stopping him now and he loves creeping up on us and playing a game called"BOO!". His personality it really coming out now and he takes after both Simon and I on the cheeky front and loves being tickled when he lets out the most infectious giggle we've ever heard.
The eczema is being kept at bay by the hydrcortisone creams and this means he is generally a lot happier little boy, he doesn't need to scratch all the time. Although we've noticed that he tends to scratch when he's frustrated or bored as a way to get our attention...cheeky little boy!!
His top teeth are cutting at the moment which means sleeping at night is a bit difficult but he has to learn sooner rather than later that it's not ok to keep getting mummy up every 2-3 hours for feeds! We've been trying the "tough love" (controlled crying) and is getting better every night as last night he slept from 12midnight to 5am. I am certainly feeling the benefit of having more than 2hours of solid sleep and long may it last!! He loves his solid food and eats a good range of foods:- sweet potato, carrot, parsnip, califlower, leeks, sugarsnap peas, butternut squash, apple and pear, banana and also likes drinking water from a beaker. Don't ask me if he's taking a bottle yet as the answer is still "NO!". I saw our health visitor last week to discuss the allergy attack he suffered before Xmas and she said best not introduce anything drastic to his diet until we've found out what caused it (this also includes not trying formula milk so for now he's getting his own way and getting me and my milk!)
Last week we all suffered with this terrible sickness and upset tummy bug. I was so ill on Thursday night that I had no milk for T and on Friday didn't even have the strength to lift him. Luckily my mum and dad came for the day and made us all feel a lot better....what would we do without our mum's eh? Even now my tummy is still no quite right. I'm still eating a lot of toast and only managed my first cup of tea this morning since Thursday.
