Nearly bed time...for both Thomas and I!
Eating breakfast at his new table and chairs.

The engineer in Thomas is showing already (taking after my dad!) and here he is checking out all the screws on his new table an chairs!

Boxing day

Nana, Grandad and Auntie Debbie invited us to have a meal with them today, so had the morning at home playing with all new toys. Thomas had his lunch and then had a sleep so we went down to their house at around 3pm and Nana had got more toys for him down there! He was as very good boy as usual and sat in his high chair when we ate our starter (smoked salmon - yum yum!) and then for the main course of roast beef with all the trimmings (YUM YUM!)

Here are a few photos of our lovely afternoon

Christmas Day

Merry Christmas!! Thomas woke us up at his normal time 5.30am, he come into our bed for cuddles and tickle fights and we came down for breakfast at around 6.15am. Thomas stopped dead in his tracks when he saw his table and chairs and then he ran up to it, sat down and started to play with the toys we'd left on the table. Success we thought!! and then he walked into the kitchen and saw the play kitchen we#d bought him with money from relatives and his god parents...at this point he did a little dance on the spot with pure excitement!! What a little treasure he is and we knew we'd got him something special and that he'd spend a lit of time playing with it. He got stuck in straight away and empied all the cupboards and started cooking the pancake in the frying pan....very sweet!

Here I am cooking our lunch and then taking Thomas out for a walk after eating our lunch (in the hope that he'd fall asleep!) He stayed asleep until 3pm when our parents arrived and then he got really excited!! With squeals of delight Thomas whoed them all into the lounge where the pile of presents for him to open was getting so large it was bigger then him!

Thomas had so many presents that he didn't know where to begin! He was spoilt rotten and we're thinking we'll need to move to a bigger house to fit them all in. Thomas says a very very BIG THANK YOU to everyone who gave Thomas (and Simon and I!!) and a thankyou card will be coming through your letter box soon(ish!)

Here's Thomas with one of his presents...his Dyson hoover!

Merry Christmas Eve!!

Merry Christmas and what a fun time we've had! My sister and her family came to see us on the sunday before it all kicked off. They were visiting Steve's parents to celebrate the good times with them and popped in to see us and we opened presents!! Here are some photos of us....

I finished work on the Tuesday 23rd December and went to my sister's house with my parents on Christmas Eve. We left home at 7am and arrived at 9.30am and were very please the roads were clear and that we had a good clear journey. Thomas ate most of the way and then read books with Mormor in the back of the car. Thomas loved to play with their toys and to watch his cousins very closley, taking notes I'm sure! Nina put on a feast for us and we ate lovely salmon and vegetable...yummy yummy!! Thomas was such a good boy all say but refused to go to sleep adn there was just too much going on and he didn't want to miss a single second of it. We left there at 3.30pm and he asleep within a few minutes of us leaving...bless him!!

Update and playdate!

It's been pretty tough the past month or so as we've been a pretty poorly household. thomas cought the nasty bug that made him very sick (usually at night and all his bed and all over me too as he was desperate for me to cuddle him..poor little boy!) then I got it but I also had the upset tummy too and that left me out of action for 2 days, then Simon cought another type of bug that made him freezing cold with headaches and feeling very tired, then Thomas got the sickness bug back...etc etc etc!!! He is such a little trouper though and even when he's poorly he still tries to be happy and to smile for us and even ties to have fun bless his heart! It was Simon's birthday last week and I thought I'd surprise him by putting up "Happy Birthday" banners downstairs and balloons everywhere too, things didn't quite go to plan as Thomas was very sick in the middle of the night so Simon had to come downstairs to clean things up, he saw everything and my surprise was gone..oh well never mind! The main thing was that Thomas got better and Simon had an ok day, even though he was knackered and at work!! Last night we went out for a few drinks with a few friends and it was so good to go out and to see them all. Paul, we are thinking of you and your family a lot and hope things get a bit easier every day...x! Thomas has a cold and nasty cough at the moment so I was worried about leaving him (and no mum - not because I don't trust you because you know I do!!) as I had visions that he's wake up and it would be a terrible evening for my parents! But we came home and they'd not heard a peek from him...brilliant!! Well until we went to bed and then he woke up..of course!! I tried to get back to bed but everytime I put him in his bed he coughed a lot and woke himself up...bugger! After an hour (!!!!) I'dhad enough and was cold and tired so I asked Simon to take over and luckily it only took him 10minutes!
Today we went to Natalie and Carlton's flat for a play date with Cameronbear...and Maria, Jonathan and Reuben were there too which was a lovely surprise!! We've not seen any of them for at least two months so it was really great to see them and catch up. Natalie had even cooked a tasty apple crisp dessert which was thomas friendly, how very kind Natalie it was so very appreciated that you thought of Thomas and bought foods especially for him!! It was very tasty too so please can you send me the recipe? I have taken their comment on board and got round to doing the blog....Thanks for a lovely afternoon and we'll have to do it again when you're back...so next year then!! Have a great time back home and I'll keep an eye on the blog! Here are a few photos of our gorgeous little boys sitting together on the sofa. Thomas / Cameron / Reuben

Howletts Zoo

Last Month........

The weather forecast for yesterday was that it was to be a lovely sunny and warm day so we thought we'd make the most of it and go out for the day. We went to Howletts Wild Animal Park in Canterbury and we had a smashing day! We left home at around 10.30am after we'd made T's lunch and T had had his mid morning snack. We started off with T being in his pushchair but he couldn't see anything so very quickly we put his reigns on and he was running around the place. It was very sweet watching him bending down to be able to look in the enclosures, unfortunately we didn't see very many animals which was very dissappointing but you can't make the animals walk around their territory just so we can see them. We did see some tigers, one of them had a young cub which was very sweet and Thomas was very interested and tried to shoo them away as we do at home in the garden! We saw quite a few monkeys and gibbons but most of them were too far away for T to see them, but Simon, Auntie Debbie and I enjoyed seeing them. Sometimes Thomas was far more interested in looking at the other children running around the park than at the animals, but he loves looking at other little people! We spent quite a while with the gorillas as they're all so gorgeous, they're so human in their behavour and really look you straight in the eye! Here are some lovely photos from a smashing day!!!

Teething!

Thomas is teething at the moment. Our poor little boy has a big tooth on the bottom left that's just cut through the gum and then there's another one above it and one on the other side too..no wonder he's not sleeping and gone off a lot of his food! He loves eating sweetcorn, peas, baked beans as he can pick them up with his fingers and they're pretty soft to eat. He gone completely off banana (his most favourite thing ever) and when at home just picks at his food, luckily when he's at nursery he's still eating lots! Tammi (his key worker at nursery) is always writing how much he eats and how much he loves to eat and that he has to climb on everything!! He is also her little shadow...very sweet! He has started to sleep a lot during the day (sometimes two and a half hours!!) as he's not getting enough at night, bless his little heart his teeth are hurting him so much that he's not sleeping well. We don't want to keep giving him Calpol or Medised every night but at this rate it's all we can do to make sure he gets the sleep he needs. Last night for example he went to bed at 7.115pm and woke up at 10.15pm and it took us nearly two hours to get him to sleep. We put Bongella on his gums and even gave him Calpol but he just wouldn't stop crying, he eventually wore himself out and we were able to get him back into bed at just after midnight. It's pretty tough at the moment as I'm back working full time and Simon's very busy with trials and totally stressed out at work so we both need our sleep too. We're going to bed by 9pm most weekday nights but we're still totally shattered when we get up in the morning as we've been up such a lot in the night. Fingers crossed these teeth will settle down soon and we can all get a good nights sleep!!

Some photos taken this week:-

A day out at Leeds Castle

A couple of weekends ago we three went to leeds Castle to meet up with our NCT friends and their babies. The sun was shining and it was such a beautiful day. Unfortuneley not all of them were able to make it but we had such a lovely time catching up with them whilst sitting on rugs and snacking on picnic foods. Thomas had to take his little lawn mower and all the babies had a lot of fun pushing it around! We took lots of photos of a lovely day out, and luckily the entrance ticket is valid for a year so we're planning to go back on another sunny day very soon.

Our 10th Wedding Anniversary

It was our 10th Wedding Anniversary yesterday and we celebrated it by going for a lovely meal last night to The Barn restaurant which serves locally produced foods in a spectaular style and it's just up the road from where we live! Simon has booked the table for 8.15pm, so Nana, Grandad and Auntie Debbie came up at 6.30pm to baby sit Thomas. We all had a glass of champagne to celebrate our special day and then it was time to leave.

When we got to the table there was a huge boquet of flowers that Simon had arranged for me., it was full of my favourite sunflowers and it made me feel so happy, so special and so very loved...lucky me!!

Here are photos of us as we're going out the door and of the beautiful flowers!
