Thomas and friends....

A busy week.....

We've been busy this last week as Simon had the week off work on holiday (yippee from Thomas!). It has gone so quickly and we're all wishing he had next week off too, but alas he's back to work on Monday. We were hoping that we would have sorted the bottle problem this week and that Thomas would now be feeding from it...but no of course he's not! We've spent a fortune on different bottles, different teats, different brands of milk, with Simon trying to feed him, Nana trying to feed him and I've even had a go....but the answer every time was "NO!!". It got to the stage where he was going 4-5 hours without a feed during the day and that's a long time for a lttle boy who normally feeds every two hours. He's now started waking up every 2-3 hours at night to catch up on his food, poor little boy (and poor me too as I am the one who has to feed him!) We sought advise from the health visitor and have a few more things to try so fingers crossed they work.
So what have been up to this week? We went to Bluewater on Monday and ordered a toy box for Mr T's bedroom and got him some new clothes too...what a lucky boy he is! Tuesday we went to Herne Bay and had a walk along the sea front. It was lovely and sunny with a brisk breeze off the water but were all wrapped up so didn't feel cold.

As you can see Simon and Mr T had a lovely time!

Thomas and I enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate!
We then drove onto Whitstable and had a nice strole around the town which hasn't changed much since Simon and I went there a few years ago. We had lunch outside at Zizzi's (an Italian resturant) which was lovely (but actually means that Simon cut my pizza up into slices which I ate whilst cuddling Thomas!!)
We were all very tired after being out in the sea air, lucky Thomas slept in the car all the way home so he was nice and refreshed but Simon and were shattered as we didn't sleep!!!
Wednesday we met everyone from the NCT group and in total there were 9 babies and 10 adults. We all love meeting up every week and it amazing to see how they babies are all changing and that they're all at different stages. Simon,Mike and Tom all oped they'd be able to pop to the pub at the end of the lane but us girlies all thought it would be best if we left them at home to look at after the babies and we all went to the pub! In the end no-one ended up going to the pub, maybe next time!?
We've been busy getting ready fr the NCT nearly new sale which was held today, Thomas has now outgrown all of the 0-3month clothes we had so we decided to sell them and use the money to get him 3-6month size which hopefully will last him a while. I went to the sale and picked up lots of clothes for Mr T and I went back at the end of the day to collect anyting of ours that didn't sell and it had all gone!! So we are very happy and are waiting for the cheque to come in the post.
Nana, Grandad and Auntie Debbie came over last night for a take away curry to help us celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. We all had such a lovely time, lots of cuddles with Mr T of course, then lots and lots of laughter...won't go into details Nana!!!
Thomas hasn't really been himself the past few days, not sure what's wrong but he's not feeding properly and crying a lot too which isn't our Mr T! He's still smiling lots and is in good sprits so fingers crossed he has a good long sleep tonight and is back to normal tomorow.
Right, bed time for me (9.45pm on a Saturday night!!!) so will write more when I can.

Teething Thomas

Well our little boy is suffering with teething, he's only just got rid of the colic and now this has started, poor little boy! He is still very cheerful and happy during the day though and despite him still not sleeping much during the day.
We've been trying to get Mr T to take a bottle of formular milk rather than getting every feed from me all the time but he's not having any of it! He screams and screams making himself all red in the face and very hot and bothered. I even expressed milk to see if that would make a difference but the answer was still "NO!". Lots of advice has been given to us so we're trying this: I will leave the room for a while before he's hungry (so that he can't see me and can't smell my milk) and Nana will 'try' and feed him with a different bottle from the ne we've been trying with...fingers crossed!
We try and get out of the house every day and save our time at home for lots of playtime and cuddles (not sure who enjoys this time more...him or me!!??). Today we're meeting Daddy for lunch and then it's the last of our baby massage class. He loves the massage that he has everyday, we've made it part of his bedtime routine i.e after we've eaten our dinner then he has a massage for about 15-25 minutes then he has a bath, then it's a last feed and into bed by 8pm. I mentioned to one of our friends the other day that he had been sleeping from 8pm through to 4am or 5am so of course he's now stopped all that and gone back getting me up at 1am and then again at 4am....little tinker!! Will have to start thinking and preparing for weaning in the next few weeks. I'm going to try and make food for him myself to start with so I know exactly what he's getting. Exciting times as our little boy is growing up fast....14 weeks old today!!!

This picture was taken yesterday morning of him in his new dressing gown...he loves it as he's warm and snug in it!!

Daddy is off work on holiday next week and needs a rest...not sure he'll get one with our Mr T around but we'll see. Thomas and I are really looking forward to spendig time together as a family and hopefully will have a few days out and about.....can't wait!!!

Here are my two boys...very very precious!!

Our day started with a lovely stroll down to the village shop to get the paper and lottery tickets, Mr T decided it was a great time to practice using his voice and was very chatty!

We popped into Gore Farm and picked up some lovely cakes and treat for when our visitors arrived. Steve, Lisa and Lucas arrived at around 2.30pm and Thomas loved to watch Lucas kick his football around. Lucas has grown such a lot since we last saw him, what a little sweetie his is!

Chris, Helen and Grace arrived around 5.30pm and Thomas was totally besotted with Grace, he watched her all the time! Poor Grace got very frightened when Mr T cried but was ok when we told her it was because he is teething. We all had a lovely curry whilst chatting and laughing. Grace is such a sweet little girl who can't wait to grow up!

Mr T still won't sleep during the day this means he is always very tired, but he still fights it and won't go to bed without screaming...(oh and still not sleeping!) Come 7pm he was totally exhausted and all he could do was scream hysterically for 20 minutes, finally a feed from mummy sent him off to sleep and he was in bed at 7.45pm. What a good boy he is as he stayed asleep until 4.30am when he had a quick feed. He then woke up again at 6am and as it was Mummy's turn for a mini sleep in Daddy got up and kept him entertained until he was really hungry at 7am when I got up. This morning he is so happy, bright eyed, smiley and very chatty...we hope it lasts all day and that the teeth don't bother him too much!!

Will try and write again soon

Chilling out with Auntie Debbie...great!!!

Fast asleep on Nana....very tiring being so gorgeous!!

Having a lovely cuddle with Grandad!!

With Mormor and Morfar in their garden....hhhmm tasty fist says Mr T!

What lovely little red cheeks we have Mr T!!!

What a happy little boy!

A very willful little boy!

Yesterday was very tiring as Mr T acted up all day long and gave me no peace. Every time he fell asleep on me after feeding and I tried to put him to bed he woke up and screamed the place down! I even tried putting him in his bed (not his travel cot downstairs) with his mobile on but he still screamed for half an hour or so. In the end I gave in and took him for a long drive in the car after lunch so I had a bit of piece and quiet!
Last night he took the bottle of formula milk very well from Simon and went to bed after having a nice bath. So at least the day ended nicely with him going to bed at 8pm and Simon and I had a little while to ourselves....which was nice!
14/9/07
Well today our little man has been very willful, he wants to have his own way all the time and doesn't like it when he doesn't! He enjoyed seeing Mormor for an hour at luchtime as it will be the last time he sees them before they go on holiday. He will miss them terribly, as I will I!! I am sure they will see a huge change in him whenever they get back.
Mr T enjoyed his baby massage at Jude's this afternoon and was quite relaxed when we got home. He was laughing a lot with Simon as I was cooking dinner which was so lovely to hear and see. Up until the point where I refused to get him out of his chair whilst we were eating our dinner and he had the biggest bottom lip I've ever seen!! He was really hacked off and wanted to make sure we knew it! After dinner poor Simon tried to give him a bottle of formula milk but he refused and screamed the house down! All in all he was a very tired boy as he'd not slept properly for any length of time today and he needs it. Bed at 7.40pm is a record...let's hope he stays there!! Night night little man and sleep well!

Another late night for Thomas!

After having a lovely time out and about today our Mr T has been a right pickle since tea time! He over heated in his car seat (despite having the aircon on!) and screamed all the way home from Natalie's. He was hungry so had his tea but still wouldn't settle down so we gave him a bath which he enjoyed until we went to dress him again ...at this point he started crying again! More comfort feeds followed. He soon fell asleep on my lap so after letting him sleep for 20 minutes or so we though we'd put him to bed but just as we were doing up the sleeping bag he woke up and started crying!! This happened a few times more until at 8.30pm he was so hysterical bless his little heart, so we gave him some Calpol and he finally fell asleep on me again and put him to bed at 9.15pm. We both feel very drained tonight and have had vertually no time to relax and unwind from the day. Oh well never mind, hopefully tomorrow will be better.
We will try and start a new bedtime routine tomorrow where he will be put to bed awake......wish us luck and we'll keep you posted!
Night night

Wednesday 12th September 2007

Cannot believe that Thomas is now 3 months old, he has changed so much and is such a joy to be around!

He is currently in his bed listening to his mobile and chatting away to it and I am sitting downstairs with a big smile on my face as I know he is so happy right now!

We have another fun packed day planned as Thomas and I are off to see Auntie Trace this morning and then meeting all the NCT girls this afternoon.

Will try and write more later...if thomas lets me of course!
